Temporary authorisations for biocidal products for the removal of Asian hornet nests
With summer approaching, the fight against the spread of Asian hornet populations is once again a priority. To this end, the Biocides Department has issued temporary authorisations extending the use of four biocidal products to the destruction of Asian hornet nests by professionals. These products are Permas D (2683B), Vespa (402B), Diatomix (BE-REG-01683) and Insectosect (BE2022-0002-01-01).
The extension of the uses of these products is restricted to professionals and comes into force on 1 June 2026 for a period of 180 days.
The requirements set out in the authorisation for the biocidal products concerned remain applicable. Regarding the use of Permas D and Vespa, the Asian hornet nests to which the products have been applied must be removed and disposed of (incineration).
