Communication from the Federal Environmental Inspection: Reminder of the rules on soil fumigation
Since 1 January 2024, soil disinfection must comply with all fumigation and degassing regulations, as stipulated in the Belgian Royal Decree regulating the fumigation and degassing of 10/05/2023 (French or Dutch).
Soil disinfection must be declared: operators must have a PS phytolicence and notify the fumigation at least 48 hours in advance. Notifying cannot be done via the fumigation database for the time being. Licence holders can use a form (French or Dutch). This form and the fumigation plan must be sent at least 48h in advance by e-mail to begassingen@health.fgov.be.
The fumigation database will be adapted so that soil fumigations can also be entered directly. As soon as the fumigation database has been adapted, this will be announced on phytoweb.be and biocide.be. Keep an eye on the news items on these sites to stay informed.
