Changes to invoicing for notifications of hazardous mixtures to the Poisons Control Centre
Companies that place biocidal products on the Belgian market or that modify their composition must notify the Poisons Control Centre of certain information and pay the corresponding fee for the hazardous mixtures.
This notification is mandatory and must be submitted no later than 48 hours before the product is placed on the market. This enables a rapid response in the event of any accidents. Proof of sumbission and a copy of the transmitted information are kept and presented upon request to the official in charge of supervision, in accordance with Article 32 of the Royal Decree of 4 April 2019.
Important: As of 1 January 2026, the invoicing system for notifications has changed. Companies submitting a notification after this date will be invoiced according to the new system.
The fee is calculated based on the number of mixtures declared annually by the operator, as referred to in Article 45(1b) or (1c) of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. In accordance with Article 9 of the Royal Decree of 13 November 2011, notifications submitted during a calendar year are invoiced by the FPS Public Health at the start of the following year.
