Biocides service organizes annual forum on safe use

The annual Forum of the Biocides Advisory Committee (CAB) once again brought together professionals, experts and policy makers to exchange knowledge and experiences on the use and regulation of biocides.

On Nov. 6, the Biocides Service of the FPS Public Health organized the annual Forum of the Biocides Advisory Committee (CAB).

In doing so, the FPS Public Health aims to provide a platform for knowledge exchange and debate on topical issues by bringing together industry representatives and experts.

Several presentations were given during the forum, including:

  • the Federal reduction plan for biocides (FRPB) and the steps toward more rational use (FPS Public Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment);
  • the rodenticide resistance in rodents (Belgian Pest Management Association);
  • the in situ generated biocides and recent regulatory developments (Ministères Aménagement du territoire Transition Ecologique);
  • the state of affairs and experiences with biocide dossiers in Belgian and European proceedings (FPS Public Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment).

All presentations are available at: https://biocide.be/en/publicaties (forum section).

This forum provides an opportunity to update the industry on the progress of the evaluation procedures. In addition, through this annual forum, the FPS Public Health aims to contribute to the safe, responsible and effective use of biocides with attention to the production of both human health as well as the environment.
