Annual report on the Belgian biocides market 2023

Every year, the FPS Public Health publishes general data on the Belgian biocidal products market. The annual report also includes data on active substances.

Authorisation holders must declare the quantities of products they placed on the Belgian market in the previous year to the Biocides Service. These data offer a window into the evolution of the Belgian biocides market on the basis of quantitative information on products and active substances.

Data from 2018 to 2023 can be viewed via an interactive tool, in the form of tables and graphs. The data can be viewed by product group (disinfectants, preservation products, pest control products and other biocidal products), by product type, by type of distribution (closed/free circuit) or by user category (general public/professional users).
The report does not contain information on temporary authorisations and registrations issued , for example, in connection with the Coronavirus crisis.

Not all data relating to specific active substances is published due to the confidentiality of commercial data.
